Nova Backup — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Nova Backup is an owner-operated integration for the Nova personal AI assistant. It is intended solely for encrypted backup storage in the Google Drive account authorized by its owner.
Google Drive access
The application requests the drive.file permission, limited to Drive files created or explicitly opened with the application. It uses this access to upload, read, list and maintain its encrypted backup repository and related metadata, not to browse unrelated Google Drive files.
Data use and security
Backup source data may include personal conversations, attachments, memories and application state. The backup system is designed to encrypt these contents before transmission to Google Drive. The public website does not request Google authentication or access backup data. Access tokens and encryption passwords are not published here.
Sharing
Nova Backup is not offered to other users. Google Drive stores encrypted archives on behalf of the owner. The application does not sell data, serve advertisements, or intentionally share Google user data for unrelated purposes.
Retention and removal
The backup plan applies configured retention limits, including up to six months for retained conversation-related data. The owner can revoke Google authorization through Google Account settings and delete backup archives from their Drive. Revoking authorization does not itself delete previously stored files.
